In 2012 Mark Aitken filmed Julián Cardona and Charles Bowden talking about reporting in Juárez while driving the city's streets at night. At that time Juárez was second only to Mogadishu for being the most violent city in the world. ‘❤ JUÁREZ,’ was filmed while producing the award-winning feature documentary ‘Dead when I got here’ (2015). Julián Cardona’s last book, with Alice Leora Briggs and translations by Alice L. Driver, is called 'Abecedario de Juárez: An Illustrated Lexicon' from University of Texas Press.
